These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Charlemont Laundrette Group, including Harcourt Launderette & Drycleaners, Leeson Laundry, and Scrub a Dub Laundry.
By using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Services by Location

Harcourt Launderette & Drycleaners

Services available:

  • Self-service laundry
  • Staff-assisted laundry services
  • Dry cleaning
  • Ironing and garment care

Leeson Laundry

Services available:

  • Staff-assisted laundry services only
  • Dry cleaning
  • Ironing and garment care

Self-service facilities are not available at this location.

Scrub a Dub Laundry

Services available:

  • Staff-assisted laundry services only
  • Dry cleaning
  • Ironing and garment care

Self-service facilities are not available at this location.

2. Self-Service Laundry

Applicable only to Harcourt Launderette & Drycleaners

2.1 Use of Facilities

Self-service machines operate on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are available. Customers must follow all signage, machine instructions, and staff guidance at all times.

2.2 Prohibited Items

The following items must not be washed or dried in self-service machines:

  • Heavily soiled, sandy, or muddy items
  • Items with loose dirt or debris
  • Items with loose components such as buttons, sequins, glitter, or embellishments
  • Pet bedding or pet textiles
  • Carpets or rugs
  • Rubber items or items containing rubber components
  • Items containing flammable or hazardous substances

We will not be liable for damage to items washed or dried contrary to these restrictions or for any resulting damage to machines or other customers’ items.

2.3 Customer Responsibility

Customers must check machines before use to ensure they are empty and in suitable condition. We are not responsible for damage or loss arising from failure to follow care labels, machine instructions, posted signage, or these Terms and Conditions.

2.4 Load Limits

Customers must not exceed the maximum load stated on each machine. Overloading may result in damage, reduced cleaning performance, or equipment malfunction.

2.5 Care Labels

Customers are responsible for following garment care labels. Machines must not be used where labels state “Do Not Tumble Dry”, “Hand Wash Only”, or “Dry Clean Only”.

Where care labels are missing or unclear, washing or drying is carried out based on reasonable judgment and at the customer’s risk, unless damage is caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care.

2.6 Unattended Laundry

Laundry should not be left unattended. Items left in machines after cycle completion may be removed by other customers.

We do not accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to items left unattended on the premises, unless such loss results from our failure to take reasonable care.

2.7 Conduct on Premises

Customers must act respectfully toward others. Laundry and personal belongings must not be stored on the premises. Takeaway food and drinks are not permitted.

2.8 Cleanliness

Customers must leave machines and surrounding areas clean and dispose of waste appropriately.

2.9 Laundry Baskets

Laundry baskets are provided for use on the premises only and must not be removed.

2.10 CCTV

CCTV is in operation for safety and security purposes in accordance with Irish data protection legislation.

2.11 Opening Hours

Customers must ensure that all washing and drying cycles are completed before closing time. Machines must not be started if the selected programme will extend beyond the shop’s opening hours.

2.12 Safety

Customers must check all pockets before washing and remove any items such as keys, coins, tissues, receipts, sharp objects, lipstick, crayons, pens, or similar items. These items may cause damage to the machine and may stain or damage all laundry inside the machine.We are not liable for damage caused by items left in pockets.

3. Staff-Assisted Laundry and Dry Cleaning

Applicable to all locations

3.1 Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are not satisfied with the quality of cleaning, please notify us within 48 hours of collection. Where appropriate, we will reprocess the item at no additional cost.

3.2 Care Labels and Cleaning Methods

We clean garments in accordance with care label instructions. Where care labels are missing or unclear, cleaning will only be carried out with customer consent and at the customer’s risk, unless damage is caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care.

3.3 Decorative and Fragile Items

We are not responsible for damage to decorative or fragile components such as beads, sequins, crystals, buttons, pearls, buckles, or similar items where such damage results from the inherent nature or construction of the item, provided reasonable care has been taken.

3.4 Inherent Defects

We are not responsible for damage resulting from inherent defects, fabric weakness, colour instability, prior wear, sun fading, shrinkage, or normal deterioration that was not apparent prior to cleaning.

3.5 Stain Removal

Customers must declare all stains at drop-off. While we use professional methods and reasonable care, stain removal cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of certain stains, fabrics, or prior treatments.

3.6 Delicate Garments

Items including leather, silk, cashmere, velvet, fur, or similarly delicate materials are cleaned at the owner’s risk.

4. Loss, Damage, and Liability

4.1 Inspection on Collection

Customers should inspect garments at the time of collection and notify us of any issues before leaving the premises where reasonably possible.

4.2 Damage Claims

Any claims for damage must be reported within 24 hours of collection and the garment must be returned for inspection.

4.3 Liability Limit

Where damage is proven to have been caused by us, our liability shall be limited to a maximum of ten (10) times the cleaning charge for the affected item.

4.4 Events Beyond Our Control

We shall not be liable for loss or damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including fire, flooding, severe weather, or civil disturbance.

5. Payment and Collection

Payment is due at the time of collection unless otherwise agreed. Items not collected within 30 days may be considered abandoned and disposed of.

6. Alterations and Repairs

Alterations and repairs are carried out only with customer approval. We do not guarantee outcomes and accept no responsibility for unsuccessful results.

7. Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law. Customer information is used solely for order processing, communication, and service improvement.

8. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Irish law and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
